OXONBIKE, the popular bike share network in Oxford, has added e-bikes (electric power assisted bicycles) to its existing pedal bike fleet, to become the first scheme in the UK to offer both types of bikes.

Security Services sold its 1,000th bike D-lock at the UAS Conference on 1 October, but has now sold over 1250 in total. To celebrate, the team gave the lock free-of-charge to Joanne Cave, a second year Master’s student at St Johns College. University staff and students can purchase a lock at the discounted price of £15 – call the team on (2) 72944 for more details.

Estates library move to SERS

The Estates Services library has completed a move to a dedicated space within the SERS Building at Osney Mead. Over the summer, this former warehouse space has been fitted out from scratch to create a single, comprehensive reference library for all the properties in the functional and commercial estate, enabling the existing archive to be moved from cramped space at the Malthouse.

University submits Castle Mill Environmental Statement

The University submitted its Environmental Statement on the graduate accommodation at Castle Mill to Oxford City Council on 30 October 2014. This is to be followed by a seven-week period of public consultation (closing on 19 December) to allow everyone in the city to consider all the issues the report raises.

Hans Kreb Tower demolition
