William Osler House adopts FM managed building service

The Estates Services FM team has taken on the management of William Osler House, a fine art deco building located in Osler Road in Headington.

Osler House

Named after Sir William Osler, who is considered to be the father of modern medicine, the building is the club house and students union for approximately 500 medical students at the University.

The FM team has been working closely with the current William Osler House student president and with the Medical Sciences Division to ensure a smooth re-opening of the building.  A new cleaning and catering contractor has been appointed and, in conjunction with Estates Services’ Systems Admin team, FM Online has been implemented to enable room and catering bookings.  Colleagues in the Repairs & Maintenance and Environmental Sustainability teams have provided funding for refurbishment work and improvements to cycle storage respectively. A building security plan is being implemented, with help from Security Services.

The FM team will provide a full managed building service including venue management: letting the building’s four attractive meeting rooms for day meetings (up to 75 people) and social occasions, as well as promoting it as wedding venue for up to 80 guests.  For information on bookings, contact Kay Hogg, Senior Event & Marketing Manager.
