Departments are legally responsible for ensuring a clean working environment. The Estates Services FM team have negotiated contracts with several cleaning companies ensuring they deliver value for money and meet minimum acceptable standards.

The University has 3 established preferred suppliers which deliver 75% of the University’s cleaning requirement:

These suppliers have signed contracts with the University and agreed rates. Rates for consumables have also been agreed.

Ensuring value for money from your cleaning contract is not just about completing a robust tendering process. It is important that regular contract meetings are held with the supplier to review the service, carry out a cleaning audit and update the specification to meet any changing needs.
